Comprehensive High School #4
The district’s current comprehensive high schools – Denton, Guyer and Ryan – are at or nearing capacity, which is 2000 students per school. It takes almost two years to plan a high school. The building will incorporate many “high performance” or “green” initiatives. Some of these include a geo-thermal hvac system, lighting controls and native planting. The district is also planning for this facility to be LEED certified by the USGBC. This is an assessment by the federal government indicating that the building is “green”, “sustainable” and energy efficient. The construction funding for High School #4 will require a voter approved bond measure. Once a referendum has been passed it will take approximately two years to construct.
Middle School #7
| {New Middle School} |
Middle School #7 will be built similar to the last three middle school designs of McMath, Crownover and Navo with some minor modifications. The District is currently designing to incorporate “High Performance” or Green Technologies in the form of a geo-thermal HVAC system, day lighting control systems and native planting. The opening of this school will be based upon District bonding capacity and student demographics. |
